Koga Hiromichi (久我広通)
Hiromichi KOGA (April 30, 1626 - May 18, 1674) was a Kugyo (top court official) during the early Edo period. He served mainly three generations of the Emperor Meisho (the 109th), the Emperor Gokomyo (the 110th) and the Emperor Gosai (the 111th), and promoted up to Shonii Naidaijin (Senior Second Rank, Minister of the Center). His father was Michisaki KOGA (Shosanmi (Senior Third Rank), Gon Chunagon (provisional vice-councilor of state)). His mother was the daughter of Hideharu HORI (the lord of the Takada Domain). His lawful wife was 梅子女王 who was the daughter of Imperial Prince Fushiminomiya Sadakiyo. His children were Michina KOGA (Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank), Gon Chunagon) and Michitomo KOGA (Juichii (Junior First Rank), Naidaijin). His daughter was the wife of Suesuke YOTSUTSUJI (Shoshiinoge (Senior Fourth Rank), Sakone gon no chujo (Lower Grade, Provisional Middle Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards)).
He was conferred peerage in 1627. Since then, he had been promoted successively up to Jusanmi in 1642 and was raised to Kugyo. After experiencing jiju (a chamberlain), Sakone no shosho (Minor Captain of the Left Division of Inner Palace Guards), Ukone no chujo (Middle Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards), Toka no sechie Geben (a kugyo who supervised many matters outside Jomei Gate at Toka no sechie, an Imperial Court ceremony), Gon Chunagon, Gon Dainagon (provisional chief councilor of state), Ukone no daisho (Major Captain of the Right Division of Inner Palace Guards), Jingutenso (shrine messenger to Emperor), Toka no sechie Naiben (a kugyo who supervised inside Jomei gate at Toka no sechie, an Imperial Court ceremony) and other positions, he became Naidaijin in 1661. He resigned Naidaijin in 1663. He died in 1674. He died at the age of 49. There is another theory that he was born in 1624.
